There are four versions of the Liberty Bell Forever stamps, all released in April 2007, which were printed by three different contract printing companies. The stamps from each printer have a distinctive font and letter size used to microprint the word "FOREVER" in a small area on the bell's mounting, just to the side of the Liberty bell.

Two versions of the Liberty Bell stamps (Scott #4125 and Scott #4128) were printed by Avery Dennison, with large microprinting:

Scott #4125 Large microprinting, Bell 16mm wide, serpentine die cut 11 1/4 x 10 3/4 on 2 or 3 sides.
Scott #4128 Large microprinting, Bell 16m wide, serpentine die cut 8 on 2, 3 or 4 sides.
The two Avery versions with large microprinting can be distinguished by their different size "perforations" which are actually simulated perforations due to the different gauge die cuts used to make the seperation lines between the stamps.

The third version of the stamp (Scott #4126) was printed by Ashton-Potter with the word "FOREVER" in small microprinting:

Scott #4126 Small microprinting, Bell 16mm wide, serpentine die cut 11 1/4 x 10 3/4 on 2 or 3 sides.

The final version of the stamp (Scott #4127), was printed by the Banknote Corporation of America for Sennett Security Products, and has the word "FOREVER" in medium microprinting:

Scott #4127 Medium microprinting, Bell 15mm wide, serpentine die cut 11 1/4 x 10 3/4 on 2 or 3 sides.

Unfortunately your picture is too small for me to tell which version of the stamp you have, but you should be able to identify it now.

Sorry it took "FOREVER" to answer your question.

I am pretty sure the 2007 year date is completely obscured by the cancel on your stamp. It should be located in the upper left corner along the left edge of the bell mount in very light gray printing. You might be able to see part of the date under the cancel if you look closely at it with a magnifying glass.

If your stamp were actually printed with the gray color missing completely on the stamps, I think the shading on the right edge of the Liberty Bell should be affected as well.

You can see how faint the "2007" year date (in the upper left corner) is on this stamp I received on a letter last year.
(The "7" is obscured by the cancellation.)

I scanned the stamp at 2400 dpi to show you the location of "FOREVER."
In my opinion this is Scott #4126 small microprinting, with the serpentine die cut 11 1/4 x 10 3/4 on 3 sides.
(Note the straight edge on the right side).

Hope this helps.

Thanks Tom and thanks to the search button.

It seems to me this is a very complicated issue to sort out.

Subsequent to the last post, there was yet another variety of this stamp issued (Scott 4437) said to be a 2010 issue but with 2009 copper print date. Anyone have an example to show? What type/size microprint was used?

Also, what variety of this stamp is shown here (just received in today's mail) with copper date 2009 and either small or medium "Forever" microprint?

I have seen no extraordinary pricing with these stamps, just regular issue. Of course that does not count missing colors or errors.

Hi Lonedan,

I can't say anything about cat value, but the ATM versions (Die Cut 8?) seem to be a lot less plentiful than the others.
