Here is my most recent finished pages. I'm sort of proud of these. Thank you for having a look and comments (good or bad) welcome.

(That yellow smudge below in the text field is ink transfer from the stamp on the page after it. Is this common using the heirloom album?)

It is always gratifying to complete pages or a series of stamps.

Thank you Yak. I been busy with just life in general lately and all the stresses that accompany that so to relax I have been working on 2 of my main collecting interests. My childhood Lincoln cent Whitman coin folders and the Washington-Franklin section of the Mystic Heirloom album. It brings me great peace in times of stress so I thank the powers that be for our hobby. I am actually surprised at how many pages I have stamps on in that area. I been reading everything I can get my hands on on the subject and it really interests me. I know that there are some I will never own but who knows as my life goes from feast to famine so who knows what I might end up with? I'll stop rambling now...lol Thank you.

Your set displays very nicely, and your 50c is quite nice. And I like the open face on the 30c. And the 15c. And the...

That ink transfer smudge you mentioned has been around for other types of albums too, but is not entirely harmless. It comes from the little bit of abrasion that occurs between pages when you leaf through the album, and it can dull the appearances of your stamps. See if Mystic has any kind of interleaving material to recommend to match their punches. The safest protection against that is a plastic mount, in clear for less impact on the album page if that is important to you. If you see much of that going on you might consider remounting everything earlier than xxxx (you can fill in the blank).

Everything looks great. Keep finding those elusive ones, and I hope to see more completed pages in the future. Good luck on your other issues ... we all have them, believe me.

Solid. Great colors.

Nothing better than satisfying that long "itch" when one completes the page, eh?

Of course, it would appear your mission now is to upgrade each used to a mint version, yes?

Ah--the road never ends..

When this road ends it will be sad day indeed! Anyhow I think to solve the smudging problem I'll just buy a hinge-less album. Hopefully I'll be satisfied then...yeah right! lol Thank you everyone I needed a kind word today. Respectfully -Jeff

Jeff those are great! It's nice to see them altogether isn't it. I've got many incomplete pages and piles of Wash/Franks in glassines and stock books awaiting the watermark fluid and perf guides. Someday I hope to be like you!

I'm happy with them. There are still at least 2 that I have better copies of that I will replace but otherwise it is indeed a good feeling. Thank you.

ILS, have you looked for the pink pack varieties of the 2c, 3c and 12c? They are really neat. It is caused by a bleeding to the back of one of the dyes in the aniline ink that was used. This particular series of the W/F's is my favorite---the perf 10 watermarked. The 2 cent has numerous color variations which are fun to find.

Very nice. I always thought that the 7 and 8 cent versions had a color that didn't go with the other colors...maybe they have faded a bit in the hundred or so years since, huh?
