I have this common stamp but but has a variety of printing do you think I can classify it as variety or a simple defect?

I never seen a 1920's issue with the Cap on right variety before? Someone will chime in that has a specialized catalog to better answer your question.

This appears to be a "dry" print; that is to say that the paper was not quite sufficiently moist to accept all the ink and so some white spots appear where the ink did not take.

The design you have is A157 (2 cent), which did not appear until 1922 at the soonest. Earliest documented use of this design is Feb. 1923. I found no listed "cap on two" variety for stamps with design A157. What you have there looks to be a printing error. There is other missing ink in the immediate scanned area also. I did not check the "CANAL ZONE" issues since you didn't mention that overprint.

It's not an error, it's a very minor printing variety.

Just an example of how this error can occur anywhere on your stamp. Not only does the right "2" have an almost cap, but look at "States" and part of the "United". Different, but no extra value, I fear.
