I received a priority mail letter with actual stamps(!) today and was surprised to see a strip of five of what I assume to be 3632b:

Asking prices for these on ebay are very high. Does anyone have a more realistic market value?

Thanks!

Omxfl, that is a very generous person, sending you the imperf strip. I can not give you a value, the PNC3 pricelist does not cover used strips. Strips ( and stamps ) on E-Bay are sometimes very unreasonably priced. Of course, this is not a plate number strip ( PS5 ), but just a regulsr strip. You might find a more realistic price at Robert Washburn's PNC-cover website, www.modcoverguy.com!

A pair cats $50 (2012), so I have no idea where those ebay prices are coming from. Just people looking for the gravy train apparently. One very expensive dealer calls them "rare and underpriced", but based on the quantity currently on ebay and other dealer ads around I have serious doubts about that. I would think that a nice used strip of five would be in the $100-$125 range, perhaps a bit more.

Thanks for the info!
Yes, I was about to throw the envelope in the bin before having a closer look. It sometimes pays off having a closer look at the postage...

It might also be well to remember that this has been used out of period as well, since it came out in 2002 and the postage rate has gone up several times since it was 37 cents. this would have at least some negative effect on the value.

I did the correct thing and informed the dealer (obviously not a philatelist) about that stamp and that it's worth more than postage.
