Hi all, I have collected and hinged stamps with my grandmother from the 1960's till just recently because she has left us. A few months back before she was put in the hospital she told me she saved a special stamp for me. I researched the stamp she said was a Scott 534B. The searching brought me to a website called Riverside Stamps, which had quite a bit of info on this stamp. It does measure 21mm X 25mm. Was hoping someone could take a gander at the image I uploaded and give me some more knowledgeable info on this the extra dots under the nose and top of head. Thanks for your time. Gary

It seems to have many of the necessary characteristics for a Type VII. One worry, though, is that it could be a trimmed 528B. Can you scan a complete picture, and measure the entire width and height of the stamp?

Another good website is 1847USA at this link:

It doesn't appear to be an offset. I suspect if you watermark it you'll find a single line watermark making it a 409. If not then it's most likely a 482.

I agree that it doesn't look offset. It has too "crisp" an appearance. Looks engraved.

Hi all, It turns out it is a #409. Whats good is she left with the thought of giving me a special stamp, that works for me. Again, thanks to the community for your input. It has made me wiser on finding out what I have while I go thru all these stamps.
