Hi All,

Thanks for taking the time to view this thread.
I have been collecting stamps for many years but in truth have no idea what I have.

I have attached some links of the older ones I got as a child that were passed down to me.

Are these actually worth anything?
any advice on getting the collection appraised would be great.

With thanks
Theo

Welcome to the forum. My first guess is all fakes, but let's see what the rest of the people think. You may want to re-title your thread, "US Local Stamps".

Thanks for your Welcome, I have had these for around 15-20 years. I guess they could be, but really know nothing much about stamps

I do have a sizable collection. Its a shame its so wasted on me.

Hello tkapoutsis, welcome to Stamp Community!

They mostly look like Local Post stamps, sometimes known as a part of Cinderella stamp collecting, made for companies delivering mails outside of Post Office bounds or times, or just made to cover times when there was no Post Office delivery or just to have a fancy stamp for the pleasure of it.

Some names are also from England or Scotland or Germany as well as the USA.

Some of these have been discussed before here on Stamp Community (SCF) so doing a Search for Local or Blood or other names may help.

Here is a thread / topic about Worlwide local stamps:

I am not sure of costing. Perhaps search ebay or Delcampe for asking prices?

You have a sizable collection, been collecting for 15-20 years but don't know much about stamps.....

Are you looking for knowledge about stamps in general or just these? If just these then I suggest that you will remain in the dark on the remainder of your collection. I would urge you to study all that you have and not just these. The resources provided by this forum are to be admired. We have a lot of world wide collectors and even more who just collect U.S. Many of us like to focus on a particular country and then on an area or stamp of that country.

Regardless, welcome to the forum and I hope to see you post in the future. Sometimes, the real value of a stamp is in the research of the stamp, not the monetary value it may have.

Hi Art,

Thanks for your reply.
I collected mainly as a kid an have had these amongst loads of others in storage.
I was interested in these first as they seemed to be the oldest, however not knowing much about stamps I could be wrong.
Looking at the collection my thinking was along the line of perforated edges were brought in at a later date.

There are many, many more to upload to the forum :)

Thanks again
Theo.
