In a lot I purchased at an auction I found this three $1 stamps. I nhave found the scott numbers for the first two stamps ( the red violet and the purple one) but I can not find the number for the blue $1 stamp. Help is appreciated.

uhh...maybe because there isn't a number? Scott doesn't list one. Since Scott assigns the numbers and they don't list one, that means there isn't one.

It may have been printed in the wrong color,or it may have faded/changed colors a bit. If it were incorrectly printed, there would be others...without any other evidence I'd have to go with faded. Maybe somebody else will know of any others...

As you can see from my avatar, I've always liked the prexies!

End stamps are chemically altered....the center stamp is normal.
End stamps were NOT issued in the color.
Sorry.

I think Kevin and Buck are right. The first stamp has one black $1 and one red $1. Something's wrong.

It is interesting that there is both a wet printing and a dry printing of this stamp.

The stamp on the right end is a changeling. The stamp on the left end is a shade - a bit stained but still a legit shade.

There are three shades listed, Purple, red violet, and bright magenta, which is very nearly pink in appearance.
