Why are there staples in the stamps? Did you staple them to keep them in place?

A common practice to staple pages of documents together (and the stamps sometimes got in the way), and also to staple the stamps to prevent reuse.

Thanks rev collector.
I have 3 RD 60 stamps with staples through them still attached to documents. Or part of documents. I can show you am example if you like in the afternoon. Is it best to remove the staples and separate them. Or leave them on the document as is. Thank you

I would always leave them on the document. Stapled to the document is just a usage, not damage. Off the document they are just holes.
