Well, I am starting to organise (in a stockbook) my used U.S. 1976-1995 collection. I will dedicate a separate page for each issue, with a brief write-up about the stamp, and what/who it is honouring and/or why.

I will be saving the used in the form of a single stamp, block of four (or appropriate multiple) and the marginal markings, including plate number singles, mail early, Mr. ZIP, etc. I have the 2005 Durland Plate Number Catalogue to help me along with that.

I will also be looking for interesting postmarks, usages, etc. I'll be delving in deep, as they say.

... and who says "modern" U.S. stamps are boring?

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

David

Sounds like a big undertaking.I
would get overwhelmed trying something as organized as that--maybe in a few years when I get some more
stamp knowledge under my belt.
Wish you the best!

David if anything in this area is needed just let me know and it will be headed your way. Have most if not all including blocks. The only ones that I might not be able to help with are used mail early or Mr. zip only have mint on these.

Of course I could always mail the Mr. Zip blocks for used but some Postal monkey would probably go after them with a marker.

I might ask for your help. What do you collect? What may I trade you for those that I need?
