It might have been nice if they showed the Arizona as it originally appeared as well, as an alternating se-tenant issue. |

I tend to agree that showing the memorial is not the way to go, a shot of the ship would have been nicer. Tom |

I actually prefer the memorial. I think more people are familiar with the memorial and what it stands for than the actual ship itself. If this was a first class stamp then images of the ship, lost servicemen and other historical images on the selvage or additional stamp would be nice, but it wouldn't really work for an express mail stamp. It should have been issued today despite that fact the rate doesn't go up till next month. |

I'm debating if I'm even going to bother with a FDC. I think one stamp is going to be enough for me, in fact maybe I'll get lucky and come across a used one. Stamps have taught me patience. Tom |

Not a fan, at least in this presentation. Just to modern and not worthy of the event IMHO. |

I think I would have preferred the actual ship. Not the memorial. Although probably every US. citizen knows the memorial as it is in it's present state and what it represents. |

I think you give people too much credit here. I'll bet there are plenty of people under 40 who wouldn't recognize the memorial, and a fair number who don't know the story. Boring stamp. Should be much better. |

I've got a better one. How many of the younger generation know the date of the Pearl Harbor attack. Tom |

Ten days is a fairly long time for someone of co-writer Sammy Kahn's talent. And it's a pretty simple lyric to a basic marching tune. Lennon wrote A Hard Day's Night in one night, so talent can work pretty fast when it has an idea. |
