Love the matrix but ran into a couple issues when clicking view to look at a particular stamp

clicked on 2 of the 1cent and it took me right to the pic and more info about it.
clicked on the 2 cent 599 and it never loaded the pic or info
tried another 1 cent and it worked
tried the 4 cent imperf and it was just blank white screen again

Using Google Chrome - Win 7 64 bit

maybe it's just not finished yet?

One suggestion for Bill:

I would like to see a legend for the various "availability" ratings. It isn't obvious to me if "Very Scarce" is higher or lower on the availability scale than "Very Limited", etc. I haven't searched the whole site and it may be elsewhere, but it wouldn't hurt to have it on the same screen.

Mike33,
Thank you very much for the feedback. I have tested on my 64bit Win7 tablet under Chrome and am not seeing the same issue but will continue to see if I can replicate the issue.

The matrix screen has to fetch the data from a database server that is about 2000 miles away from the server that is hosting the web site itself; so we've noticed that at times it may take 2-3 seconds before the matrix screen get redrawn. If you don't mind could you try again and see what happens if you wait 60 seconds or so?

Also, there are 3-4 ways to return from the details page back to the matrix page. Do you recall which one you were using when returning to the matrix page (1. 'back' button on the browser, 2. the link at top of page, 3. The button at bottom of details page).
Thanks again

Aland all;

Thanks for the feedback. Al, we are going to work on what you are asking about. It is indeed important to have a rarity scale that is easy for readers to understand and use. We will let you know when we have it ready.

I think I see what may have been my issue - Not sure if I tried this the first time around but I was still running into a few pictures not showing up this morning and accidently bumped my mouse wheel and it scrolled up and the picture was there. So I tried it again and sure enough I go to a blank white screen but scrolling up makes it all appear.

I was using the back button on the browser to get back to the main page. But for some reason, clicking on the view button takes me all the way to the bottom instead of automatically starting at the top. That makes sense?

To add to Mike's comment, I went in and clicked on several of the items, what I found happening was where the page opened to view was dependent on the stamp you chose. Some opened towards the bottom where all you saw was white, others opened towards the middle of item description and others opened to where you could only see the "Back to List" and "Print Record" buttons.

EagleBub and Mike,
The database contains several hundred Franklin-Washington records and the original intent was to display all of them with just the browser scroll bar. But when opening the 'details' windows different browsers will place its location in various places, this lead to the behavior you saw.
Based upon your feedback, the page design has been updated in two ways. First, the scroll bar is now inside the inline frame and the browser page is no longer 'long'. Additionally the PHP code has been changed to open a modular 'details' page.

This resolves the issues that you reported. Thank you for the valuable feedback.

studebaker,

You're welcome! I just tried the same functions I described previously. What I found was , using Chrome, IE and Safari it opens as you described perfectly. Using Firefox was a bit different...the screen "grays out", then I had to scroll down a bit to see the details page. Not a issue for me but not sure how comfortable people might be when switching browsers.
