dittrich,
I can't confirm the colors, but here are the probable colors, from top to bottom:
1) Rose red 2) Brownish carmine 3) Brownish carmine (plate 1L) 4) Brownish carmine 5) Brownish carmine 6) Brownish carmine or claret (plate 2L or 3) 7) Brownish carmine 8) Brownish carmine (plate 1L) Sulfuretted (discolored) 9) Brownish carmine (plate 4) Sulfuretted (discolored) 10) Brownish carmine
Are these for sale? I would be interested in buying some of them. |

Stallzer,
Nice stamp with generous margins! do you know the color? Looks to me like brownish claret. Plate 2L or 3 of course. |

I bought these on ebay in 1999 as part of a nice presentation page. (cut and pasted the stamps only) I cannot say if these colors are identified correctly but the person I bought it from remains active in the hobby today. I was able to do a quick search and find him. Who knows they may be a member of this community. Two files. Thought I would share. Hobsun |

Thanks, Hobsun. I'd be interested to know who put that set together for you. The colors appear to be correct at a glance. |

Here is a #10/11 color set that I scanned today. The color variations aren't as extreme as the first set of six that I posted in this thread, but I was going for more standard colors in this set. Although some of the colors may appear almost identical, the difference is more apparent in person using proper lighting: |

Classic Coins,
My notes indicate it was Bubba Bland from CA. From what I can tell he is now an active member of the Mexican Elmhurst Philatelic Society.
Thanks Hobsun

I traded with Bubba for a while back in 1999 and 2000 before he turned his focus to Mexican stamps. |

dittrich,
That is Scott #10, orange brown. The normal setting scan shows a truer color. A very nice stamp! It is more valuable if you leave the stamp on the cover, but if you don't think the cover has any historical significance, you may like the stamp better off the cover. |

dittrich,
That is Scott #11, either rose red or brownish carmine. The ink texture looks more typical of rose red but I can't confirm it. |
