Here is another one for the fly specking folks; a 'Long Ear' Washington Type I.

This is a known plate recut variety listed in Scotts ($350 MNH) which is located on Plate 20342 UR position 34. I have no idea how they arrive at this kind of 'value', in my experience the demand for these kinds of plate flaws is next to nothing.

That is really cool. Much better illustrated than any I have seen. The rarity will prevail!

A quick little story on these.....
About 10 years ago I purchased 10/12 of these from a dealer who
does all the local shows here....At the time the were listed in Scott Specialized for about $450
each (now $275)...A few years later....talking with him at another show....he divulged how he got them
to me(guess he forgot I bought the hoard)....He said someone came to another show and had a BRIEF CASE FULL....
Now I guess the market is getting flooded thus the price reduction in Scott. But still a LISTED and sought after item.

It is interesting how the ear on this blow up looks nothing like the image given on theswedishtiger. This long ear makes more sense (to me) verses theswedishtiger image as that one just looks like a blob of ink below the lobe. Maybe it's my screen or something else but the none of the hair around the ear is the same. Very apparent on the sheet when looking at it. Thanks for showing studebaker.

The swedishtiger site is incorrect.
It lists the "long ear var." as 634A....
It is not...634A is a totally different stamp.
The Long Ear is a sub-listing of 634.
