If you were lucky enough to get one of the right side up Jenny Sheets would you keep it or sell it? Since there are offers out there like $25,000 I would probably sell! Take a trip to Europe and put the rest toward a new BMW! Or,perhaps, buy some US classics like Scott #'s...2..122...245! I bought two: opened one..no such luck! Left one unopened...I will wait to open it..let the tension build!

I would definitely sell. My collection is not pricey enough for that to have a good home. I could buy a lot of $1 to $200 stamps for that amount .. plus pay off a couple of bills.
I have about 6 packs so far ... I have used them to mail out copies of my book ($2.98 under old pricing; I think the new pricing is about $3.19) so every mailed copy of "Chasing Jenny" comes with a modern used copy of the stamp! |

I would sell it. It would be a big help plus I could always buy more covers! I have another auction coming up and the vast majority of my international buyers will get one on cover if I can find enough sheets from all the local post offices. Many of them are out of the sheets right now. Large domestic shipments can get one too - 4oz. or higher. |

I'd be interested as well to see a $75K offer for the upright Jenny. I've only seen in print offers of $25K.
In any event, since it seems we're talking to exclusively US folks here, if you do sell for whatever big money offer may be on the table, just keep in mind that it is a taxable event, which could put you in a different tax bracket depending upon your other assets, earnings and qualified deductions. It may be wise to consult a tax professional or accountant before the sale comes back to "haunt" you.
I was just reading a few days ago about how the IRS is already on the prowl for all of the Sochi 2014 Olympic Medal Winners from the US, waiting for their chunk of the pie (i.e. both for monetary prize winnings and the value of the actual Gold/Silver/Bronze medals.) |

I think he is confused on the buy price. I have seen offers to BUY @ $25K... Ross W has a sheet he is trying to sell....$75K Think that is what is confusing. |

I think that I would sell, since the market is there right now. Perhaps this is the peak price and who knows what the value will be in 50 to 100 years. Besides, I will be dead and my children will probably just give or throw away all my stuff anyway! As was said before I could buy a lot of stamps with that kind of money. |

If there are only 100 of the upside JENNY ,and only one has been reported. Then you have to believe a few more were found but nobody is talking .Expect the price to fall once 5 or 10 are floating around the auction firms and dealers. Once you get into the $20,000 and up price range it becomes difficult to find buyers .Most buyers during the first few months will be speculators who are looking to flip it for a profit . |

johnmac007: It was either in this weeks Linn's or its in next week's edition. Same group that offered $25,000. Well I thought I saw it for $75K. I will need to go back and retool these old and blind eyes. (Looking at anything before morning coffee doesn't help). keven 504: maybe that's what I saw in next week's Linn's maybe?? If he bought one for $25K why would someone pay 3x now when there is still a possible market for less??? OKAY Now I got it--The SELL Price is $75K per sheet or $15K per stamp.. he will break the sheet if he gets 3-orders. (possible $10K profit +/- on the sheet if he paid the $25k) |

I've bought several sheets to use for office postage. (Aside from the goofball face value of $2, I like the stamp.)
If I came across one, I would sell it in a heartbeat. |

Am I the only one who is not buying the $2 Jenny for use as postage (on international mail, in my case) because some fool postal employee overseas might think it a 'find' and my mail go undelivered?
Cheers,
