To quote from the ebay item description:

"This lot is worth thousands of dollars and you can find anything in here."

Yes, you can tell, because it's all thrown into a carton with such TLC, and not in a garbage bag.

And aren't those stamps showing in the photos just marvelous?

What a find!

How many thousands will it be worth to you?

Well, it may be worth the $9.99 he's asking for it, but that's about all -- it looks like a fairly standard mixture to me.

At least he's not asking a super inflated price for it, but his claims are hilarious.

The $9.99 is just the opening bid, or it would be gone.

What opportunities exist ! at twenty cents a stamp I could make up many cardboard boxes worth thousands..i hate to charge anything but the exact postage..my wife tells me I am nuts....but when I see a cover I want on ebay at 99 cents and then the shipping is $1.50 and it becomes a 2.49 cover...its hard for me to resell the cover for 40 or 50 cents and make a profit !!

Whatever happened to truth in advertising ?

I saw a listing the other day that claimed that the Marilyn Monroe sheet had a current value of $60.00 !?????

Some people will do anything for a dollar.

about StampWants and I'll throw in StampOvvers as well.

Not to defend ebay and ebay sellers (because I can't), but you can't protect stupid/gullible people from themselves. I don't know if it's true, but I remember the story about the guy who sold the Xbox 360 box for hundreds of dollars back when they were in high demand just before Christmas one year.

Deception involves a seller intentionally trying to get someone to believe something that the seller knows to be false. There are many possible forms of deception because liars can apply multiple strategies simultaneously. Types of deception strategies that liars can use include...

DISTORTION- saying something that could mean
two or more things

OMMISSION- intentionally concealing information

FALSIFICATION- giving false information

QUANTITY- altering the amount of information that
should be given

QUALITY- altering the veracity of the information

RELEVENCE- changing the importance of the
information

CLARITY- not giving clear information

Deception to me is when the talking heads and the oil companies said that it was demand from India and China that drove the price of a barrel of oil from $70 to $147..and that the wall street speculators had only a small part in it......if they were only stupid they got big bucks for being stupid..but if they believed it..thats deception !!
