I just joined a couple of days ago - I discovered the site while I was looking for something else actually.

Anyway, I'm Kevin - I live in the Toronto area, I've been collecting for over 40 years, although I took an extended break from mid high-school until a few years after university.

I collect primarily Canada, US, GB and Ireland, and I accumulate anything else I can get my hands on. I don't actively seek out new issues, but I'll pick up the odd one if the topic interests me or is personally relevant. I tend prefer to collect used stamps, since it shows they were actually used for their intended purpose. They're often cheaper, which helps too.

Recently my teenage daughter decided she wants to collect too, so now I have something to do with my collection when I'm gone.

Thanks to everyone for the kind welcomes. I hope to be able to answer at least as many questions as I ask during my stay here. I've been in the field long enough to know a few things, but I'm certainly not an expert.

Hi Kevin

Nice to see another collector from the GTA area.
I'm in Newmarket.

I just know you will enjoy yourself here.

This site is a lot of fun and instructive but beware
it is addictive.

It's nice to hear that a teenager has interest in stamps.

I introduced both of mine to it but alas it didn't take.

Greetings from another Ireland collector! I'd like to "friend" some of the Irish collectors here and get some chat going about Irish philately. Cheers!
