Yea, I hesitate to jump right to forgery with this. There was nothing to gain creating it.

I_Love_Stamps this is what I was thinking of. Sure enough it is rolled all the way down the stamp.
Seems like a violent way to treat a portrait of Washington.

Right stampcrow but alsp notice how it's the whole length of the stamp (your roller grill example) and the stamps grill in question is clearly an attempt to center it. It is an un-even attempt to boot. I believe it was an attempt to boost the value of a stamp (albeit the wrong stamp)by falsely embossing a grill. I also can't say that I have even seen a roller grill, or any grill for that matter, of that exact pattern shown on the original posters' stamp image. The spacing of the knurling is too far apart and would suit grip more than postage obliteration.

The worst part of is, is that they are ruining the finite genuine stock that's out there. You just have to know what to look for when buying a new piece. I don't think this poster had any ill intentions but rather just curious on their recent holdings.
