Definitely. BIN price = $198.00. 2011 Scott US Specialized value for grade VF-XF 85 = $16.

Yeah and it says up in the one corner that a jumbo sold for 1800. must be nice. I'd rather spend 1800 on the three zepps if I had the cash to do so.

If someone is so bored with philately that they are willing to pay ridiculous sums just to have the best possible stamp, I feel sorry for them.

And if you are a dealer trying to capitalize on that type of collector you are not really doing the hobby any favors.

This is in NO WAY CLOSE to the best possible stamp of this issue.
It is only graded 85....a 85 basically has a cv that covers the cert costs...
I emailed the seller....
He states....I remember about 2 years ago a jumbo of this sold for $1800. at Harmers....
Oh well...go figure....clueless seller.

lol No way would I ever shell out that sort of loot for that issue! That is a ridiculous asking price! I think Smauggie nailed it in his response.

A clueless seller, or, maybe one who just doesn't want to listen? Too many of those on ebay. Thanks for sharing.

He also seems to have a lot of postal cards that to me appear to be in the $1-$5 range at $30-$40 each.

I reviewed this seller's sold listings. They occasionally sell an overpriced one-of-a-kind philatelic cover, but nothing like this overpriced common single stamp ever seems to sell.
