Hi again. I Need some help on this one so I can write it in to my Little book. I cannot see any cancelations but I am not very experienced at this. at the Moment I have it written in as #73 unused, hinged, no gum. Please give opinions as to whether I may be correct.. Thank you

There is also a faint hint of a downward angled mark which would appear to begin at the left end of the circled mark and move down and to the right at about 30 degrees. Definitely looks cleaned.

Hi.thanks for the imput, I was out for a bit. I will try and take a better pic now. what you have circled there is actually a crease where the rather hard hinge stops on the back of the stamp. will try and take a better pic.

how old I dont know.. bought it at a stamp fair in Munich a couple of months ago for 12 euro.

With a stamp like that, I wouldn't ever handle with my fingers. There may appear to be no damage immediately, but over time by handling it, it will cause the stamp to deteriorate. Of course that is why good quality classic stamps go up in price. :)

thanks for the tip.. I think this particular stamp may have been handled lots in the past.. it Shows sings of it..but I cant see a cancel mark.so I dont know how to catagorise it. it does however appear to have some small scrapes etc when looked at through a mag. glass
