Have you tried to even get those stamps off the backing to use them...It is next to impossible to do that without tearing them.
they seem very cheap and I bet they will be just as impossible to get off the envelope...One could say you'll need a lot of Vodka...oh yeah and a drop for the stamp too.

This is a 2009 stamp that isn't list in the above link yet. No it's not a cheap stamp, ugly but not any different than other new stamps over the years.

In any event it sounds like it is another stamp without the protective backing making it easy to soak.

I see even the stop light doesn't have a reading for it yet either.

well this stamp has no soakability or pealability...luckily the package I needed to mail needed 3 stamps because I couldn't get them apart when I finally separated them from the paper.
These are the nastiest stamps I have yet to encounter

That is getting more common Peg over the past years. For one reason or another they do not use the water soakable layer between the adhesive and stamp on some issues.

There is a long list of these nasty no soakers and this just might be another addition to the list.

Mkfarm,
what bothered me is that with this stamp you can't even get it to the letter before it is damaged...I am just frustrated after putting so much effort into US stamp collecting to have the quality of my collection diminish so quickly...Ah well

That is pretty bad, I can tell you I have not had any problems with this stamp like that. I bought a full sheet and separated them into some plate blocks and singles while using the rest for postage.

Your batch sounds like a problem and I can't even guess what it is.

Well I am glad to know that it was just the sheet I got and not the whole lot...I will however take your word for it as I do not intend to tangle with Oregon again.

The USPS is not requiring the water soluble layer any longer from their printers to cut costs. It has been a little like roulette the last couple of years and likely becoming the norm moving forward.
