Almost seems as if someone took a marker to this and tried to create a fancy cancel. Do you think this is a contemporary cancel for this stamp? Sorry for the poor scan. Struggling with my scanner. The cancel is a bluish color.
I have seen a number of blue blurry lined cancels similar to this on stamps of that era, so think is most likely authentic. This on is nicely struck and centered on the stamp! However, since there is no other apparent cancel on the stamp, and this is a simple geometric cancel, I would suspect if someone faked a cancel, they would try a different cancel.
