Was looking thru some Washington Franklins I have and not sorted and came across this pair of 481. Please notice what appears to be a scratch thru the C of cent on the left statmp. A second scan shows a more close up. Nothing is listed in specialized. Is this a scratch?

Thank you for your time and assistance
Respectfully,
Richard

Yes, it appears to be either a plate crack or plate scratch, but there also seems to be one in the "C" of the right stamp too. Not as big as the one in the left stamp, but there nevertheless.

Thank you Bill. I have little experience with plate scratches and cracks. My first thought a crack would be jagged in nature and not as straight as a scratch. Am I incorrect in this logic?

Respectfully,
Richard
