Questions About The Reds And Greens Series

For those who collect the US revenue reds and greens my question is do you feel it takes away from the value and or also the prensentation of the stamp if it has one straight edge? (these are the $20 and under stamps not ones with a tab). Was at the Hartford APS show this weekend and was looking for some VFor better used reds and greens. There seemed to be many better centered ones when they had 1 straight edge.

Are these viewed like the early US regular when a straight edge is presented or are they acceptable with no adverse detriments.

I did not purchase them and the dealer said if they still available after sunday night he would let me know.

The greens are harder to come by due to nature of them being destroyed by the stock firms. Just seeking your wisdoms and thoughts on reds and greens with a straight edge

Straight edges on the lower value reds & greens are not thought of as highly as stamps perforated on four sides, just like in postage. The really scarce values will also bring less than fully perfed, but might be somewhat more understandable. These stamps are all about 80% of cat, which I personally think is a bit high.I would not want to pay more than 60% myself, but I realize that reds & greens have been very popular areas for quite a while now and a dealer might not want to go any lower than what they are right now. For that kind of money I would wait for better examples, but.........I was at the show myself so this is the first I saw of this.
