BTW, thanks for doing that research on the address. That's really neat.

I can picture the kid sitting near one of the upstairs windows putting all these stamps in his album. And I'm sure having no clue that someone else would be enjoying it almost a century later and showing it to people around the world :)

Kudos to you Mike for having a sharp eye. You hear so much about the good and bad of ebay. It really is just the ultimate expression of the free marketplace both the best and the worst.

It would be nice if, some have suggested, that ebay police the genuiness or soundness of items being offered. This is impractical. As with most transactions, buyer beware needs to be kept in mind. Knowledge is your best weapon and those who possess it are going to have an edge.

I have found many items on ebay which I might not have found anywhere else. Generally you are going to pay for quality no matter where you find it , but what's wrong with that?

I have found that dealing with a reputable seller is a good practice but paying by paypal tied to a credit card offers the most options for assuring delivery, protecting your money, and disputing misrepresented items.

Have I made mistakes? Sure; who hasn't? Many times however the mistakes were my own fault, hitting the BIN button too fast or being too aggressive in bidding before asking the right kinds and numbers of questions.

Kudos to you Mike 33 for using your knowledge and sharp eye to snatch a bargain.

Maybe the poor fellow was on hard times and needed some quick cash? I recently had to sell of a few things (that sort of make ill to think about) to get some prescriptions filled. It sucks but I do agree on two things...Even if I needed a few dollars I still wouldn't have marked it down that low and second, WELL DONE! There is some neat stuff in there! Congrats!
