Quote: I would like to thank you all for taking interest in my stamp. And I would like to thank you for helping to point out some issues/problems with proper stamp identification. It has been an exciting thread to watch, what with side bets going on. In any case, a side-by-side, flat bed scanner, at 600 dpi minimum would be the best. When posting here, please try to show 800 pixels width or higher so that we can more easily see on our monitors. |

Quote: I would also like to apologize to Kevin I didn't mean to offend you I thought your comment was quite funny and I was making light of it. No problems....enjoy collecting. Smarty pants is a new one....I have been called plenty things before. Quote: However, we don't know for certain until we can see a scan I/and the rest are certain. |

Unfortunately, 600 DPI is not enough resolution to render a regular issue US stamp at more than about 579 x 630 pixels. Enlarging a previously scanned image will produce a soft a pixelated image and will not add useful detail. An optimized stamp image scanned at 600 DPI should require about 50K bytes at a medium setting. Also, avoid editing .jpg files. Each edit will degrade the quality of the image. Clark |

Stampcrow......#462 W/F 1916-1917 has the Experimental Precancels, as well as other denominations and some Postage Dues during that issue period. |
