Are Global Sea Surface Temp. Stamps Really Sold Out?

As many will recall, the USPS reported to Linn's Stamp News that the $1.15 Global Forever Sea Surface Temperatures Stamps (Scott 4893) were sold out at Stamp Fulfillment Services as of 09/09/2014 and the USPS spokesperson said "we do not have plans to reprint at this time".

This was further confirmed by USA Philatelic (4th Quarter, 2014) where the panes of stamps are no longer listed for sale.

However, for some unexplained reason, the stamps have returned to the USPS Store's website as available and "in stock" in either pane of 10 or block of 4 formats:

I wonder if an unannounced reprint of the stamps took place? Or perhaps the USPS found some unsold inventory?

Linn's has finally gotten around to reporting on this suggesting that the USPS has not reprinted the stamps, but that the new inventory represents that coming from the closing and consolidation of stamp distribution centers:
