Hello, all

I am depositBox from the coin community, and I am valuing both a coin and stamp collection for estate purposes.

I have 100-150 mint sheets (air mails, postage, As, postage dues from the (40s/50s?)) 60s, 70s, and 80s, most notably the Bassett pictured, and I am looking for a site or book that will not be mysticStamp inflated, or bidStart/eBay novice-ily priced.

Thanks for any suggestions.
mS

Use ebay sold completed listings to get market values.

mintSheet....The only catalog that values sheets is BROOKMAN.
I would suggest to visit....www.mrussheet.com
His name is Don Smith....has a great stock and all are
price by Scott #. It will give you a idea of "DEALER"
selling vs catalog value.

The US/BNA Postage Stamp catalog also lists values for mint sheets.

I'm not sure what you need, exactly, for estate purposes. Catalog values are so-called "retail" values. And I don't understand what you mean by "novice-ily priced" in regard to ebay or bidstart (though I could guess). But Crouse27's suggestion that you look at ebay completed listings is a good suggestion. Those are probably better estimates of value than catalog values. FWIW, when bidding on ebay, I use a rule of thumb in which my maximum bid is 2/3 catalog value, and I win the auction more often than not. I wouldn't be surprised if you found ebay completed sales running 50 percent (or perhaps even less) of catalog value.
