FAM.....Foreign Air Mail.

When I first started collecting airmail was really something special and there was an extra fee for it. It seemed like they had a new first flight almost every week.

Here's my oldest first flight cover.....Oct. 1, 1928....FAM #1 New York to Montreal.

Tom these are one of my favorite areas to collect. The C11 Beacon Bay is what first got me interested in them.
Those are some great covers will have to scan some in tomorrow.

Do either of you have any flight covers for Illinois, specifically Springfield or any that have an Abraham Lincoln cachet/rubber stamp. I know I've seen 1 from the Illinois State Fair.

Mourning Tom, I know I have two from July 1928 just can not find em yet. But to start some off here is a 1928 FFC from Louisville to Cleveland. The back stamps show it left Louisville at 9:30 am and arrived at Cleveland at 12:00 then on to Akron.

Here's one from Madison, Wisconsin, 1927. It appears to say C.A.M. NO. 9 over the blue airmail line.
Have sold quite a few first flights in recent months and still have some in my ebay store.
(Shameless plug!)

That "FAM 17 to Bermuda, 18 to Azores, 19 to Australia & 27 to Iran" is another
goodie. Love those old covers going to foreign destinations.
