Surprised but not shocked that the 2014 Medal of Honor prestige folio was omitted from this year's supplement for Mystic's American Heirloom album. I know that Scott has simply designated the two stamps in the folio as varieties (4822a and 4823a); however, it would seem that as a prestige folio with a different selvage including photos of the Korean War MoH awardees that they would have found space in the supplement. I'd be curious to know if other albums have elected to follow Mystic's lead on this.

I'm curious how Mystic handled the Made in America issue with the different selvage sheets? I also have the same album. It's not unlike Mystic to opt to make choices that are not sensible as collectors should have a choice what they want to include. They would be better off providing all the pages and just make (a) (b) pages available. Please let me know so I can decide if I'll be making my own pages.

Thanks in advance

Mystic did the same thing with the Made In America issue. One album page for a single sheet marked as 4801. Well, at least Mystic is sometimes consistent.

Thanks for the reply! I think I'll call Mystic today. I'll feel better having said something, I have to look back and see if I kept the font sizes so I can print up my own pages on the blank pages I've saved so it matches the other pages.

When you find out the font and size, please pass it on to me. I still need to duplicate some pages since Mystic often separates se-tenant issues and I prefer to have them intact. Thanks in advance for your help

Will do! Check back with me to remind me please. I tend to procrastinate things for my own collection.

For those who also may want the information regarding Mystic's American Heirloom albums. I spoke to Mystic today and the reasons for the omissions according to Mystic is because if Scott did not include a number then they did not. I asked the rep foward my issues and ask they consider that with issues like Made in America Scott 4801 which has (5) sheets of the same stamps but with different selvages per sheet and in which Mystic made (1) space available, that collectors want to place all (5) sheets into their albums. I also discussed the 2014 Medal of Honor issues and here too for the same reasons collectors wanted the (2) spaces. I suggeated that in next years supplement or subsequent printings they might consider adding these.

In addition I requested the specifitc font styles and sizes for those brave enough to make their own using blank pages. The rep emailed back & they are as follows:

Headlines – Helvetica Bold 20pts
Text boxes – Times 9/10
Captions – Helvetica 8/9

Hope this is helpful.

I spoke with the Mystic folks last year about the way they split se-tenant issues - in particular the Christmas issues. Seemed to fall on deaf ears as they did the same thing this year. I don't think any of our suggestions ever reach the front office. Can't believe that Don Sundman would ever divide a se-tenant block in his own collection.
