I got a box yesterday that had the end torn open. Somebody that works for the PO stole 149 mint condition Xmen comic books
and about 20 FDC's. I'm mad as Hades. going to the PO and file a complaint in the morning. There was only one comic book in the box.
at the very least thet got $170 in mdse.

Could be a sign of the time we are in. Within the last 3 weeks I have had at least four opened or missing stamps on envelopes arrive.

Some may see a older common stamp as a prize on a letter and think they won the lottery.

Might want to have the Post Master notified as many routes now are contracted out and may need attention.

Well I think immediately labeling this as thievery is a little harsh. Machinery could have ripped it open and is probably more likely.

I have one comic book in mint condition here. that's it. Nothing else. no damaged comic books, no damaged FDC's.
Nothing. If this rather big box had been damaged ,where did all the other 149 comic books and 20 covers go to.
Had a package a couple of months ago made it all the way to my post office. then disappeared.

If machinery did it then there's likely no one around to see it as it happens, that's the whole point of machinery usually, to replace humans.

I'm sorry but it saddens me to see negative conclusions jumped to so quickly, without any investigation whatsoever.

Got a pic of the damaged box?

they marked the Hades out of my beautiful seten stamps (another topic here on SCF), I have a package of motorcyle stamps
that made it all the way to my PO and disappear. And now this. Would love to send pics but I'm picture posting challenged.

I am probably going to be sorry I asked this but ! How did you receive the damaged box ? Was it delivered to your door ! Did the post office note that it was received in damaged condition ? As they love to say on CSI lets follow the evidence !! By all means bring the box to the post office and file a report .

Am a big fan of CSI. delivered to the door by our very nice mailperson. you know she's a maillady, not a mailperson,
she's a very nice maillady. sticker has received unsealed, received damaged, & received without contents. none of which
are marked or checked. Box has been defintely mashed and damaged. while not impossible for 149 comic books to get damaged
by machine there is absolutely no evidence of any piece of paper on any kind in the box other than one comic book that is in mint
condition. y'all may be right! I'm jumping the gun. thank goodness, I didn't shoot a drug dealer in the butt.
(sorry, Bobby, is that ok?) that word is being used on a major Tv commercial. Tacky, yes.)
anyway, i'm going to have it investigated anyway.
