Well guys it took a few long evenings but I did it. I've tackled the 5lb monster. Don't get me wrong, I still have lots of work to do but I have separated the on paper and off paper and the countries are in there own boxes.

I have tons of soaking ahead of me but fear not I have two stamp drying books coming.

to be continued.

Dianne

I agree with Gussy, I thought you would be sorting that for weeks.
Who is next on the list? Is Gussy ready for it yet?

Dianne, top left hand side of the package. The girl at the post office put two the same, international stamps, I think they were $10 stamps.

I thought you Said they were $10.00 Stamps I'll look again but I couldn't find $10.00 stamps anywhere on the package. When I get home after work I'll scan the stamps and post them. If my memory serves me correctly there were two stamps that were $2.50 or something of the sort. Unfortunately they were badly damaged in shipping.

The other stamps made it through ok.

I'll update you when I get home.

Oh boy Dianne, I still have 1 pound to go on my monster.

How much do you charge per hour sorting.

I'm proud of you Dianne! I guess I'm just getting old - I don't have the stamina to sit and work that hard any more. My eyes cross, my back starts aching and my brain hurts.

There is a reason for my madness I'll admit. Many of you I'm certain will agree that as we age our metabolism slows and the pounds tend to accumulate.

I've been struggling with this for a few years. My biggest problem is that I get hungry and eat way too much in the evening after supper.

To solve this problem, after all evening chores are done, I break out the stamps and go at it. Can't eat and sort stamps at the same time you see. If I get hungry I drink water. I've lost 10 lbs and working on 20 more.

What's this, Dianne, the Philatelic Diet?

Sounds like a few more of those monsters will bring you down to about where you want to be!

Good job on the stamps and congrats on the weight thing. I quit smoking a year ago and have finally gotten around to do somethingt about the weight gain. Being one who needs discipline, (probably my military background), I joined weight-watchers and so far so good. But, hey, if you can lose weight by stamp collecting, go for it.
