Greetings and Welcome to the Group Cyberboy, Have you been collecting these long? How about an album to put them in? I might have some album pages that you could print out, if you are interested. There is a really neat site for these Machin Queen head stamps. http://www.adminware.ca/machin.htmKind Regards, Dave N. <>< |

Nice start to a Machin collection. You are aware, I hope, that there are a ton of them. I just started on a Machin collection and have about 70 of them with only a few hundred to go. I am in love with the colors. When they are mounted on an album page it is a very lovely sight.
How many of the members here are like the elliptical perforations? I think they are very distracting. I have to stop and say to myself the stamp is not damaged. |

One nice small subset of the Machins is the pre-decimals. There are only a limited number. None expensive. |

DJD: cool cancel. My 2 cents worth oon machins. The first stamp album I made (this was before stampalbums.com) was G.B. bought a disc from a guy in France, I think. (10 bucks, good disc, actually). I just finished making my album when the new scott cats. came out. Wouldn't you know it. They changed the numbers. boy, was I MAH. I refuse to change my #'s after all that work. maybe 20 years from now. BobG4- you got my vote. they're almost as bad as the U.S. Wash-Franks (only reason, I work with them is because some of them are valuable and of course it is my country and my main collection. |

stampaholic---the numbering of the Machins is a confusion to say the least. Try looking at the Stanley Gibbons numbering scheme. It makes little sense. They use X prefixes, Y prefixes, which they say is to avoid renumbering. But it is sure hard to find a particular stamp in the huge number of listings. |
