But as a lawyer, I think you already won half of the battle when you had an annotation in your package documents the fact that it was received in that condition....The presumption of negligence is against them already

i sent two rolls of silver halves last week that showed up empty. The weird part is they put the empty envelope made it all the way there with out it being marked as damaged or lost goods. I am still investigating.

I noticed that there has been an increase in incidents where post office packages are either damaged or lost...I have colleagues who have been victims also by this...I just hope that they get to resolve the problem especially now that they are competing with private carrier firms

I wish you luck in your pursuit of an answer. On two separate occasions I have had less than satisfactory results in getting the local post offices (two different PO's) attention regarding processing complaints. And they actually wanted to dissuade me from filing a formal complaint even when there was clearly no implication regards the local's performance. Hardly a positive customer friendly attitude.

That same night shift is also reading my Hebert's PNS catalogue that I was sending to nr-notrare! I had to fill out a two page questionaire about the "missing" item. They found the huge label I put on the box --but no box or anything else. Hopefully they will find my catalogue and your comic books.
(I attached a full page copy of the catalog's cover to help them out in locating my catalog in the "lost and found".)

Good luck stampaholic!
