My husband, Tom (nr-notrare), has been harassing me to join the club. Apparently he just can't get enough of me, so this is me, joining the club! We just got home yesterday from the St. Louis Stamp Exposition where in addition to seeing a mind boggling amount of wonderful stamps and covers, we met Gussy and her hubby, Mike. I wish we lived closer to each other because I feel like I've found a kindred spirit in Gussy. I consider myself to be an advanced beginner....which means I know enough to be dangerous to our budget. My current interests are Special Delivery, especially E7s on cover and I find the local posts to be very interesting. I'll close my first post with a pic of one of my favorite stamps, a mint E7. I look forward to getting to know all of you.

Glad you are here. Sorry I didn't meet you all on Saturday. Stamps can rub off on you after awhile. I got my wife collecting Disney stamps several years ago. She has since backed off almost completely, life gets in the way with a toddler running the house. I am a member of the Local Post Collector Society, which I just got an interest in. Can't wait to here more about your collection.

Hi, Sara! So glad you all were able to make it to St. Louis! Thank you for your kind words! It was great to get to meet you and nr-notrare! It was my first stamp show and I didn't know where to jump in at! ha Tom pointed to that back corner and they had some great stuff--I'm just waiting on my HONEY TO DO the computer re-arranging to acomadate my scanning and posting all from the same room.
So many stamps and so little time! ha

You're gonna have to show off that beautiful Hospital special delivery cover, too! I was amazed with it!

Welcome to the forum!

Hi Sara, welcome to the SCF.

It's great that you got to meet Gussyboy. I would like to meet some of you too, but it's a long way from Australia.

I'm thinking of starting a collection (of money, not stamps), to raise enough for airfares for Bandicoot, Emma and Myself (and Nuggethill from the other side of Aus) to come visit you all. Anyone want to make the first donation?

Steve

Welcome, Sara.

Specialising in one aspect of United States collecting can be facinating. I have a few collections, mainly King George VI reign of our Empire & Commonwealth (see my avatar), and Costa Rica. I do specialise in the 1975 Americana Definitve Series. Very interesting.

I look forward to seeing some of your collection and learning more about the U.S. "Speedies".

Have fun, here!

David
