Hi,
Just would like to ask your opinion. I ordered a stamp album/book 2 days ago from mdcstamps.com. They have already charged my credit card.
I sent them an email asking about the mode of delivery, and they were immediately able to reply on this. However, I then sent a follow-up email 2 days ago and asked them when I would receive my package and they have yet to answer until now. Their website mentions that delivery can be aftr 2 weeks but I am really worried right now and I would have appreciated an answer to my email question.
I then made some further investigation and I found out that their website has no address. I tried calling their telephone but everytime I call, I always get the machine.
Any advise on what I should do or should I just wait for the package for 2 weeks.
Thanks
John

Since it clearly states on the front page of the site that it will take 2 weeks for delivery I probably wouldn't worry too much until the 2 weeks passes.

Two weeks is probably a little long, but I wouldn't worry a bit until 10 days has passed. After all, we live in America, home of slow delivery and bad service! |

Purchased a couple of numismatic varieties publications very cheap for a friend (cherry picker) , was sent Media Mail and arrived 3 weeks later, purchased another book from another seller a week later and it arrived in 3 days also using Media Mail.
Have patience john , customer service can be very poor for some of these businesses. |

Media mail can very in speed. It seems to depend on the whim of postal service employees as well as the distance and how much other mail there is to handle at any given time. They claim it can take up to 9 business days. |

Also, some stamp businesses are parttime and on the side. It may not be their primary full time employment. I wouldn't be too concerned.
I just ordered some prints from the BEP or Bureau of Engraving and Printing and it doesn't even say how long it takes to complete an order for shipping or expected time of arrival or the mode of shipping. I ordered via the website and they do say for faster delivery to order over the phone or by fax. I called and the order had been shipped the next day and sent 1st class, so it should arrive by next week. BTW the shipping charges must have been built into the cost of each item because my total didn't change when I completed the sale. |

Such bad luck...My order arrived today...but instead of a stockbook..I got a stockbook slipcase. I reviewed my receipt and it did say "slipcase" so it was all my fault and I admit it. I was confused coz the stockbook and slipcase were in the same line so I might have confused it with one and the other. Spending for 30 dollars on something I do not need really hurts and I just have to get over it. Being a beginner in the stamp collecting hobby, I will just treat this as a learning experience and exercise more patience before buying another stamp supplies. |

Quote: Media mail can very in speed. It seems to depend on the whim of postal service employees as well as the distance and how much other mail there is to handle at any given time. I asked my postmaster about media mail. It works by volume. At any stop during the trip, it may not be loaded on any vehicle until there is a certain preset volume waiting. So it can sit at any (or every) stop waiting for the poundage to be reached before moving again. |

John Call the company and explain the error. many of them will take a return for a small restocking fee or store credit to apply to the item you did want to order. It can't hurt and could turn a $30.00 lesson into a few doller lesson
