Since there has been quite a few Revenue stamp threads lately I thought I'd show a couple of my more interesting Revenue/M&M stamps. I know these aren't anything special but then again Revenue stamps aren't my main interest but I have been known to pick up ones that catch my eye.

I enjoy looking at these stamps. The first one from J.C. Ayer & Co. has an interesting history in Massachusetts as it is named for Dr. James Cook Ayer, an extensive biography of him may be found at the link below:

It would seem the NY Times was not as kind in their obituary for him, as they made more than casual mention of his mental incapacity near the end of his life -- but at least he was prominent enough to warrant his obituary being posted in that newspaper:

His brother Frederick Ayer was a big textile tycoon who was also well known. Frederick's daughter Beatrice married Patton.
