Ran into this on ebay and wondered how people feel about it.

Apparently, for a fee, this guy will make a fake on request to your specifications.

This group is not listed in the section for reproductions but appears among the regular stamps boldly labeled "GENUINE forgeries"

http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies...rstamps.html states:

Replica stamps
Listings for replica stamps must follow these guidelines:
- The item must be clearly marked as a replica in a way that can't be removed.
- The listing must include a picture that clearly shows this mark.
- The listing must clearly state in the title and item description that the item is a replica.

So it's already in violation of the rules. The title stating "GENUINE Forgeries!" is misleading as evidenced by the negative feedback from a buyer who didn't read closely enough. I don't like it at all.

That's awful! But if anyone tries to report it by using the "Report Item", nothing will happen. The ONLY chance for success is to call by telephone the "Contact Us" and be prepared to spend an hour on the telephone with someone located either in India or the Phillipines who barely speak English. Good luck!

What the h--- is a "genuine forgery" anyway? And what would a "fake forgery" be?

I think it's called an oxymoron.

Well, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em! I am putting in an order for all the 19th century stamps I don't have, including each variety. Soon I will have an 85A Z grill!

Sorry about your screen. At least it is on the inside.

Hey, look at that...this was post 5150. Seems vaguely fitting.

(sorry for the obscure reference...can't help myself)

A genuine forgery is called a counterfeit, and there is a whole section in the Scott Specialized devoted to them.
