While these stamps are not my paticular field, I can tell you that it is very difficult to determine specific colors on computer monitors. Every camera and or scanner "sees" the colors differently. That said this stamp does appear to have a bluish tinge to it, as do some of the scarcer colors of this issue. I'm sure that someone with more knowledge than I will be along shortly to give an opinion.

As littleriverphil said, identifying colors over the Internet is usually very inaccurate. It can be done with scanner calibration, but that takes a bit of time and requires purchasing a scanner calibration target. Since it doesn't appear to have a grill and doesn't "seem" to be pink or pinkish, it is most likely a #65.

It may have a fiscal cancel. If so, it was used improperly as a revenue stamp.

To ID the shade, really need month and year date. If this was 5/30, the earliest it would be would be '62, and those are mostly rose shades. Salmon rose would be a '61 shade, but it could be a late use?

This one is a pastel-like, subdued shade, at least on my monitor....but it's not pastel rose, which is pretty easy to ID. Either way, if it's faded, that makes it really, really tough to ID.

Might could take a SWAG, and say one of the '63 shades, like in the lilac rose class, or coral rose class-- all would be #65.

Hope this helps-- Ray

Thanks guys. The picture color looks the same as it does in hand. I don't have any others to compare it to.
