Trying to determine if the FRanklin is a 578 and if the Washington is a 579

1 cent Franklin stamp: perf. 11 X 10

2 cent Washington stamp: perf. 11 X 10

Hello again Mike, you identified both of them correctly. The perforation measurements are correct and both have a nearly circular oval around the bust.

These can be faked from coil stamps, but the top and bottom perfs appear to be genuine. To help determine if these perfs are real I performed a Srail test on it:

Yes, does the corner tear on the franklin significantly devalue it ?

The corner tear and the large stain drastically devalue it. Exactly how much it is devalued is a subject for opinion from a stamp dealer or a more experienced collector.
