Hey guys,

I am so thankful to have found this forum, I've been looking to start a collection of some sort, and I'm Positive that the Philatelic world is the right hobby for me.

I am 22 years old Canadian, starting from scratch.

I have not bought any albums yet, and thinking about doing a DIY Display (I am still not 100% sure for this matter).
i'm still doing my research before purchasing anything.

I hope to see you guys around.

-Landy

Welcome Landy. I am just getting restarted in this hobby after a 15 year hiatus...or more. Fifteen years ago I helped my children start collections. They are now in their late 20s. :)

A lot has changed since I collected as a kid. I'm going to take my time snooping around the Net, and visit the local Stamp club, to see what my options are.

See you around! :)

Hello! I started collecting out of a desire to collect something as well. I started out with stock books, which were a good way of getting my feet wet. I did start to get overwhelmed after awhile, though, and ordered an album. It was a good decision for me, but everybody is different. :) Good luck!

Landry to SCF . Happy to have you join in with us. Read a lot here at SCF before you decide what you want to collect. I just started to collect Canadian stamps last fall after collecting U.S. stamps for about ten years. Should you decide to collect Canadian stamps or U.S. stamps. I can help you get started. I have quite a few duplicates and they would be yours just by sending me your address.

I am very happy to see so many replies, thanks a lot for stopping by and replying, it does mean a lot to me... I have just bought a stockbook album from lighthouse , and I am very excited to start my journey. I am planning to collect My origins stamp more specifically; Canadian, and St-Kitts ( one of the virgin islands) I am also thinking of doing a side project with the Canadian black history Month and Black Heritage stamps.
