Hi All,

Maybe you can help me to identify (scott and type) these stamps... P10. The stamp at right is very red. Both have no gum and look mint to me. The right stamp have a perf problem at right

Thank you!

Perf 10? Has to be either 425 if watermarked; 463 if not. The stamp on the right could also be a 425e.

The left stamp is likely from the 425e...

The right stamp (could also be) from a 425e
but the right side most assuredly shows the
distinct signs of having been torn from a
tape dispenser...

Hi All,

For me, the right one have more details...

Dots on head, heavy toga.

Maybe type VII or other?

Washington stamps type and WM are extremly hard to identify

Thank you!

Flat plate perf 10 sheet and booklet pane 2 cent W/F stamps are type I. If the business problem and chronology are understood, speculating on impossible varieties would be unnecessary.

Hi Clark,

I don't specultate on anything... sorry if I did it.

It is just because this stamp have an heavier look than other I have in my collection. It is a very red stamp with lot of details if I compare with others. Perf look weird too and I don't understand why ( booklet stamp in a tape dispenser? why ? ).

Add back picture; no gum as I said before.

This stamp is interesting for me and I ask some questions about it.

Thank you!

CDNum.

cdnum... picture the following...

somebody purchased a sheet of 2 cent stamps, and tore off strips
of 10 horizontally, then rolled up 10 at a time and enclosed them
into a dispenser...

cdnum,

Can't be a 1a. That would have to be perf 11 or a Shermack imperf. You said you have a perf 10 stamp.

Can't be a VII. That would have to be a perf 11 or an imperf OFFSET stamp.

Hope this helps.

cdnum... and one final note for you, my friend...

There is absolutely no possibility of Type 1a...

The 1a, Scott # 500, is perf 11, and its defining characteristics
do not exist in your stamp(s)...
