I have a bunch of stamps that I got that are in pretty poor shape, but I'm trying to figure out it they have any value before I decide what to do with them. I'm assuming that they are all low value do to the condition, but just am hoping that one of you can take a look at them for me. I know that two of these are revenue stamps - which the dated one is in great condition and am wondering if the date on it would make it more valuable than one that is unused. Thanks in advance for any help/info! I actually posted pics of some of the others that I have as well about two comments below this one - they are three cent stamps.

I don't know about the revenues. The 1-cent Franklin would have the highest catalog value among the regular issues, but it is in pretty bad shape. The 3-cent imperforate is a #11 (definitely not #10). The other four 3-cent Washingtons almost certainly are #65 - Can't be certain there are no higher-valued color varieties among these four from the scan.

Sherri,

The one with the 1858 date is a Scott #26. The others all appear to be #65. If you were to sell the group shown in the second image on ebay as one lot, you may get in the $7 to $25 range - more likely toward the lower end of that range. The "fancy cancel" on the one at bottom right is a little unusual, so it might draw some interest. There is an outside shot that one of them that looks more rose-pinkish is a #64a, which would be a higher value, but it's highly unlikely. There was a wide range of colors for the #64/65 issue. Here is a color sampler from my collection:

Thank you soooo much for the color sampler - determining the colors has been really hard for me. I appreciate your feedback to my post too. I'm going to go through all of the stamps that I have and then maybe do the ebay thing - I just hate the idea of selling stamps on there. I have a quite a few more and maybe I'll just set aside the ones that are the most interesting and then sell them as a lot.
