Slight correction. If it's marked SPA#4, then the pamphlet by Diamond and Kenworthy was not produced by the APS. It is one of the handbooks produced by the SPA (Society of Philatelic Americans) which was the southern states' answer to the APS in days long gone bye.

The major strength of "Distinguishing the Types of the 2 and 3 Cents Washington Series of 1912-1921" are the illustrations. They clearly display the distinguishing characteristics of the different types (sic I, 1a, II, ....VII. Along with the written descriptions,
