I put in two bids just for fun - at least I can say I tried.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/181786886941
http://www.ebay.com/itm/181786997452

Anyone want to speculate on the final price for these two lots? Will be fun to watch.

These are total frauds and unless all the other bidders are shills, someone is going to get taken to the cleaners. Its a subject for sorrow, not mirth. ebay will not take action against the scam seller.

Also, you should be aware that large numbers of bids have been retracted on one or both of these auctions. If shill bidders are involved above you and they retract their bids, you could get left holding the bag. It's not wise to bid if one is not willing to end up as the winner of the auction, even if one thinks one will not. Just sayin'.

It did seem a bit shady with the bad english and all. Why has ebay not taken action against this seller?

Because ebay is too busy making money. See the other thread and the threads on Stamp Starter for interminable discussions of why ebay won't police things. They once had a program in place to police stamp sales but they ended that program several years ago.

Just poor planning on the seller's part.

It's like the seller saying to the buyer: "See you, I don't want to be you, I am out of here, bye bye, kiss your money goodbye."

In the first auction the current highest bidder has a total of 9 transactions, all with this seller.... You do the math

These two bid discussions ought to go into some sort of a SCF Hall of Fame (Shame). Many valuable lessons and insights are available here.

So say you won and then had grievous concern and intent to just default as the buyer and not pay? Does ebay enforce your obligation as buyer, or can seller take legal recourse against you even if good delivered are fake, or just not delivered?

And for only $40 you get economy shipping. In other words your stamps get lost in mail.

Even the Economy shipping does not compute. The items are in France(supposedly) and he is going to send them USPS Media Mail.

And I am by no means an American stamp expert (as some of you already know..haha), but an INVERTED JENNY stamp on ...ebay..Come on now..I would definitely place it in the hands of a respectable auction house.

They look in to good shape, maybe reproductions/replicas...????

No, they won't do anything. Everyone gets one free pass. then 3 non paying bidder strikes and you're out. But ebay doesn't even police that.

Someone here really ought just put in a $100k bid at the end and just not pay. I would do it myself but I'm too protective of my ebay account nowadays. I have done it before though on Mickey Mantle forgeries.
