Its hard to judge colors from scans.

No. Pigeon blood pink is way different (has some blue to me). See here: http://www.theswedishtiger.com/64a-scotts.html

No to pink IMO. See here: http://www.theswedishtiger.com/64b-scotts.html

Question...I was on the http://www.theswedishtiger.com/64a-scotts.html website and was looking at "perfins"..Question is that they classify perfins stamps as USED...So, even if I have a MINT stamp that has never gone on a cover and has original gum, it is classified as USED..??

Agreed that one cannot judge the shade on a monitor. Lots of conversation in the past on this stamp and shades and I have personally posted a lot on this one. I have a bunch of pinks and rose pinks but every one is different and only way to know for sure is with expertizing and comparing known reference copies. Or possibly with analysis with high res scans.

In fact, I sent two of this issue to Bill Weiss yesterday....and I'll post the results when I get his opinions back I the mail....

I want to encourage you to continue to colect and learn, so good luck. But some things in philately must be done with expertizing and some with study, so I would also suggest you spend time with a Scott Catalogue, and online where there are some great resourced available to collectors. Since you've posted a lot of US classics, a good place to start could be the US Philatelic Classics Society site.: uspcs.org. there are some great references there for the student who wants to learn more and more.

Hope this helps...Ray

I know next to nothing about collecting perfins, but perhaps what is meant by "used" on the Swedish Tiger site is that they are not/were not good for anything other than on mail from the associated company. That is, unlike a regular stamp, any schmoe off the street cannot use them on stamps or redeem them - that's the whole point - only the company can use them.

On the other hand, again knowing nothing about perfins, certainly there is a difference between once canceled on cover and one uncanceled with gum. Call it whatever you want, but one has seen postal use and the other has not.

thanks @ray.mac

you have beautiful stamps of https://goscf.com/t/26411&SearchTerms=65,shades

I can per email a pic 9600dpi send?

I think, my stamp is versus "From Mid 1863, Deep Rose (unlisted), RF = 2", alias my stamp scott #65? ( http://www.usphila.com/stamps/us/64...090-1191.jpg as #64a is a little more pink )
