The right hand stamp is a 500... congrats...

The middle stamp is a 499...

The left hand stamp (might be) a 500 edge copy...
need to see a much larger image to tell...

The right stamp appears to be printed by offset, thus among 526-528B, depending on the type.

Ciletaliph,

Judging from the well defined rope and toga button in the above picture, I'd have to say its a 500; type 1a like disi123 said originally.

There's no question the right hand stamp is a 500...
all of the characteristics are there, and the middle
is positively 499...

The left hand stamp is 'iffy'... can't tell 100% from
the scan. Given the 'brightness' of the image, it could
be offset...

I would suggest performing a foil test on all 3 stamps,
and also, post backscans of all 3...

Ok, did the tinfoil test, middle stamp showed design, left and right stamp did NOT

So middle stamp is not 499

No... exactly the opposite... which, I guess, further confirms
how images viewed from a computer screen may be different from
reality, which means that John Becker is correct, and
the judgement I made (based upon my view) is incorrect...

If the foil test ONLY appeared on the middle stamp, it would
have to be flat plate, and the left & right would be offset...

As a last analysis... do you see any setoff on the backs of
the left and right, or just on the middle?

That would pretty much confirm it, then...

Left to right : offset/flat plate/offset

my apologies to John Becker for jumping the gun...
