Hi I inherited a stamp collection and have no previous experience. I'm trying to sell some of them to help a sick family member and am afraid I listed this one incorrectly on ebay. The difference in value that I am finding on the web varies tremendously and I'm trying to embrace the that part of the process because there are so many visual cues that make all the difference. The picture of the back of this pair of stamps has no apparent hinge mark or disturbance in the glue. Thanks for your help.

It's definitely a type III design, so either Scott 450 if watermarked, or Scott 488 (my guess) if unwatermarked. Value for a NH Scott 488 pair with that centering is ~$3, on a good day.

You should end your listing & relist (or not bother relisting at all. It's very possible that the costs of selling -- listing fees, FVF's, packaging supplies, postage costs, etc. -- will exceed the price someone is willing to pay for that item, if properly described & identified.)

Looks to me like someone may be paying a pretty high price for what may not be the real deal. Center row of perfs. look suspicious to me.

Al E. Gator, there's no inexpensive imperforate (or imperforate-between) type III rotary stock for someone to use, so almost 100% guaranteed the perfs between stamps on this coil are genuine. It's a good illustration of just how far out of alignment genuine perf holes can get.

The inner curve of the right side ribbon unquestionably has two shading lines visible even in the scan with the item. That makes it a type III as Ken pointed out, so it cannot be a #449. Yet despite the discussion the seller affirmed the listing s a #449 on July 8.

Apart from price what is the justification for holding on to the claim it is a #449?

The present bid is a bit more than cat for a type III pair #450.
