stamperdude, very nice collection. Route 66 was such an uniquely American icon. It things like this that keep it from fading into obscurity. Great job.

Rancho Cucamonga absorbed both of the above villages with an interesting twist. The homes from the two communities, when sold, become Rancho Cucamonga legally,... BUT, the post offices and separate zip codes still maintain their identity. Hence, Alta Loma is 91701. (Goes to property values - higher up the mountains - but also to the schools.) I spent fully an hour crossing out the one and putting in the other as the correct address on mortgage papers, only to find out the realtor didn't know and I shouldn't have done so.
