I am going to start collecing mint never-hinged US stamps, only beginning with this year. I am collecting them now from all years, but all my others are/will be used. So I was thinking, I would like to find a "pen pal"(or a few or three!) type friend from another country to exchange stamps like this. For example, beginning with this year whenever the US releases a stamp I will send it to my "pal" and when their country releases one, they send it to me.
It would be a cheap and fun way to start a mint collection. Is there already a site/place like this? If not, would anyone on here like to do this with me?

I would do that with you Stephanie. I think I still have at least one of each of this years. I'll check when I get home. I don't collect mint but use them as payment for American buddies sometimes. Dianne |

I normally don't collect mint either, but I want to starting with this years US only. This collection is more thinking of the future and passing them on to my kids, etc. I will also have a used stamp of each for my own collection. I have most that have issued this year and I'm going to order the ones I don't. Do you also want to do the souvenir sheets and commemorative panels, etc. or just the stamps only? I would like to do all the releases, as long as its reasonable. Here's this year's releases: http://www.usps.com/communications/...pr08_136.htmLet me check and I will see if I am up to date on all released so far. |

Souvenir sheets would actually be great as I can't usually get those used anyhow. We could do it on a value system as some are more expensive. I'm not very fussy I'll take anything. How about I send you some of the ones I have and you can see for yourself and then send what you think is fair for the value. Would you like souvenir sheets also. I'm not certain what commemorative panels are Dianne |

Sure, I am like you, I would like them all, lol! I've said it before, I've never met a stamp I didn't like?
So would you rather have the stamp or the FDC? Current years are easy to get. |

By the way in case you didn't read the other post; the stamps I thought my husband had mailed over a week and a half ago just left Saturday . Needless to say I'll do my own mailings from now on. Dianne |
