Hello! I have stumbled face first into the world of stamps... and I have no idea where to start with a collection of about 4000+ that has been placed in my care by a dear friend. Looking forward to getting to know the collection and how to preserve it. Interested, but not concerned with monetary value. I've included a delicately prepared picture, that only gives a glimpse into the history of this wonderful treasure! Great to be here!

I am guessing this lot is from the 1960's and earlier and composed of mostly common stamps. There are many Worldwide Stamp albums on ebay that cover the period from 1860s to 1960s. I would look for one of those that you can get at a reasonable price.

Here are a couple of examples:

Remember you and not buying them for the stamps in the album, but for the album itself. Any included stamps would just be considered a bonus.

Some WW Albums to consider are:
- Harris Statesman, Senior Statesmen, Citation or Ambassador worldwide albums
- Print your own pages from Steiner Stamp Albums: http://www.stampalbums.com/

I'm sure others in the StampCommunity will provide you with more great idea on how to get started

Welcome, keep in mind this hobby is quite addictive.

So take it slowly at first so as not to get overwhelmed.

You will love it.

Regards,
